LadyGaga has met with performer Lady Starlight during this time; after a performance at the Lollapalooza Festival in 2007 Gaga was signed by Vince Herbert to Streamline Records, an imprint of Interscope Records. Gaga's 2008 debut album The Fame, which she released in 2008, was a mediocre radio hit. The singer went on tour in Europe and the US to promote the album. It was not until her 2009 smash "Just Dance" that the mainstream music scene really began to take off. Gaga was suffering from a Labral tear on her right leg that she had been secretly nursing for a few weeks in order to ensure she was able to continue the tour. Following her show in Toronto Gaga had to walk and was in extreme discomfort. She was admitted to the hospital and her tour was cancelled.
